Hall of Faces

I was commissioned by HBO to create a new image last week. It accompanies a ‘Hall of Faces’ exhibit at the SXSW festival in the US. Some of my ‘Beautiful Death’ images were displayed to give people something to look at as they queue to enter, and this is intended as a link between the two spaces. The eeriness of the Hall of Faces is partly down to the calm expressions on the departed so I thought it would be fun to contrast that with their imagined expressions at the point of death (I use the word ‘fun’ fairly loosely).

Of course, in the TV programme the pool and faces are in different rooms.
